Whether you’re curious about Christianity, already a believer, or looking to grow as a follower of Jesus, we’re excited to welcome you and help you find your place in our church family. Our desire is to help you gain spiritual clarity, experience genuine community, and grow in loving God, loving people, and making Christ known.
We also have a special heart for the military. Even if you’re only in the area for a short time, we would love to help you get connected and feel at home.
FAQ
Our services typically last about 75–90 minutes. During that time, we sing music rich in biblical truth, pray together, hear teaching from the Bible, celebrate communion and baptisms, and share updates about life in our church community.
Pillar Church welcomes people from a wide variety of backgrounds—whether you’re exploring faith, a long-time believer, or only in the Hampton Roads area for a short season. We strive to be accessible to those asking spiritual questions and substantive for those who desire to grow deeper.
Our desire is to live gospel-centered, Christ-exalting lives. We are theologically Baptist and partner in mission with other Great Commission Baptists. Our music blends modern and traditional styles, and above all, we seek to be a church that treasures what the Bible says as our highest authority.
The best way to get to know us is simply to join us for a couple of Sundays.
We also have a special heart for the military community. Whether you’re stationed here long-term or just passing through, you are welcome at Pillar, and we would love to help you get connected while you’re here.
Come as you are. We’re not concerned with how you’re dressed. Most people wear what they’d normally wear when spending time with friends or family—because that’s what we are.
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces who are happy to help you find your way—but there’s no pressure or spotlight on you. If you have kids, we’ll help you get them checked in and show you where to go. If not, feel free to grab a seat wherever you’re comfortable.
Our service will guide you along the way, and you’re always welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel ready. You won’t be asked to stand, give, or speak. Just come, listen, and be with us.
After the service, many people hang around to talk, while others head out quickly—both are perfectly okay.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
We offer classes for children 10 and under during the sermon portion of the worship service. Our children’s ministry volunteers are carefully screened, trained, and background-checked, so you can feel confident that your child is safe and well cared for.
As our volunteer team grows, we look forward to opening classes for older children as well.
