Military Parents Night Out

I am so thankful for this program, being a navy family we don’t often get dates. Also this year has been particularly difficult financially. So paying a trusted sitter and then being able to afford dinner out is not in our budget. This program was free for us because of some amazing sponsors and families paying it forward, plus a group of volunteers that were background checked, trained and trusted. They welcomed us and my son walked right in to eat his own free dinner! Parents got a gift bag with a gift card for our date night, a book, and some other goodies. We felt loved, and seen. The restaurant we went to was running behind and we got there to pick up my son late and felt so bad about having the volunteers wait for us, and they were so kind and reassuring that everything was okay and that Ben had an amazing time. He didn’t want to leave, and wanted to hug or high-five every volunteer in the way out. If we were in search of a home church we would definitely be visiting this church. You can feel the love and support from the congregation and leadership. I hope to be able to utilize this program next year too! We were on the waitlist, but so blessed to have the opportunity.

Thank you so much for having this event for military families. Because we are so far away from our families, we rarely have time to ourselves. This greatly helps to get US time as parents. It also gave my teen time to enjoy a meal without interruption as toddlers are so demanding when we go out as a family. MY KIDS ABOUT LOVED BEING THERE! My son who really has a hard time making friends due to his condition absolutely had a blast. My babies were so happy when I picked them up.

Thankful for this experience! We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of thought put in for child safety, security, and fun! The date night gift card with parent goodie bags were a plus! I recommend this event for families in the future! Let these people be a blessing to you and your babies! We plan to attend Sunday service this week!

We appreciate Pillar Church for their offering of a Parent's Night out for our family. We were welcomed with open arms and joyous, smiling faces when we came to drop our children off so that we could enjoy an evening together. The children were very well taken care of and seemed to have had a lot of fun with this church community and their wonderful volunteers. Thank you so much Pillar Church, we are so grateful to have you on our side because it truly does take a village.

I am an active duty spouse of four small littles, and I have had the privilege of partaking in date night with Pillar Church twice. The first experience my husband was temporarily assigned out of state, but I used the date night for some girl time. When I first arrived and assessed the environment, as most moms do, I quickly realized how many adults and volunteers there were. I felt that my children were safe, and we were met with smiling faces! They so nicely accommodated my two year old who wanted to stay with his four year old brother. At pick up, my children had full bellies, full hearts, and full hands of all their masterpieces. They had a great time! When given the opportunity to do this again, this time with my husband, I signed up without hesitation. Again, they accommodated my two year old, and stayed with him until he felt more comfortable. My husband and I were very thankful for our gift card at Longhorn Steakhouse, and enjoyed our food and quiet conversation. If given another chance, we will partake in date night with Pillar Church again and again!

My son enjoyed the Parent Night Out. He rarely felt safe with strangers so I was surprised he didnt have any anxiety at all. He was incredibly proud of himself for learning about the 10 commandments and actually asked when is the next event as he wants to learn no. 11 to 20 commendments (lol). My husband and I have not been on a date night since my son was born 9 years ago. We really needed it! Thank you for making it happen!
