God has done something remarkable. The faithful congregation at Brentwood Baptist Church, after many years of ministry in Norfolk, has entrusted their church building to us so that gospel work can continue in their walls. We are deeply grateful for their legacy — and humbled to carry it forward.
Through The Nehemiah Project, our goal is to repair and refresh this building as Pillar’s new, permament worship location in Norfolk. We want to see the Brentwood community, Norfolk, and South Hampton Roads changed by the gospel as we strive to love God, love people, and make Christ known.
This isn’t just a renovation. It’s a resurrection story. A chance to rebuild a house of worship that will anchor gospel ministry for decades to come.
Together, we can continue the legacy of Brentwood Baptist Church through the ministry of Pillar Church of Norfolk, all for God’s glory.
To repair, renew, and repurpose the Brentwood campus for long-term ministry.
| Phase | Focus | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 – Repairs | Roof, HVAC, plumbing, and safety compliance | $75,000 |
| Phase 2 – Upgrades | Electrical, lighting, security, accessibility, kids & community spaces | $25,000 |
| Phase 3 – Renewal | Restore visual and functional integrity of interior spaces, outdoor signage, beautification, outreach events | $50,000 |
This building sits in a community full of young families, military homes, and students — yet many have no church connection. Every repaired wall and renewed classroom becomes a tool for discipleship, a space for neighbors, and a platform for the gospel.
